Van Tran GOP Voter Registration Drive Up to 3,300 new
Republicans since December
Garden Grove Garden Grove Councilman
and 68th Assembly District Republican frontrunner “Van Tran“ announced
today that 3,331 new Orange County Republican voters have been registered
by his renewed GOP voter registration effort which kicked off late last
year.
According to the Orange County Registrar of Voters office, the Republican
margin over Democrats in the 68th District has improved from 10.2% in
mid-December to over 11.9% - an increase of 1.7% in just seven weeks time.
"This is one of the fastest Republican growth trends in the entire
state,"said Van Tran. "And it will take efforts like this to
win back central Orange County, which is why I am committed to this task.
My goal is nothing short of returning Orange County to Republican hands
in all Legislative and Congressional seats."
Amazingly, the real count of registered Democrats decreased over that
same period by 793 voters. Even the number of independent and third party
voters remained stagnant, almost unheard of.
"Van Tran has proven his ability to register and turn out new voters,"said
campaign spokesman Paul Hegyi. "Van Tran's energy and dedication
are huge assets to the Republican Party," added Hegyi.
Van Tran was first elected to the Garden Grove City Council in November
2000, gaining more votes than any other candidate in Garden Grove history.
